Built on a Lifetime of Taekwondo
Saga Taekwondo was founded in 2025, but its foundation began decades earlier.
In 2025, Saga Taekwondo was officially born, beginning in the family garage with a simple idea: the knowledge passed down from one generation should not stop there. It should continue moving forward—one student at a time.
What started small has grown into a training system built around the same principles that shaped Sam’s own journey: strong fundamentals, discipline, confidence, continuous improvement, and attention to detail.
Today, the Saga Taekwondo Online Academy takes that foundation beyond the dojang, giving adults, beginners, families, and competitors access to the same structured, step-by-step approach Sam brings to his students in person.
This is more than where Saga started. It’s what Saga stands for: Learn. Train. Grow. Pass It Forward.

Sam began training in taekwondo at four years old under his father, a taekwondo master. That foundation became a lifelong journey through university teams, military competition, service as a military sergeant, law enforcement and years of teaching.
He has coached hundreds of students, from university athletes and competitive students to complete beginners and his own sons. Saga began in the family garage and grew from a simple belief: the knowledge passed down to Sam should continue moving forward.
Inside the Saga Online Academy, Sam gives families the same detailed, step-by-step guidance he brings to the students he teaches in person.

WHY TAEKWONDO?
The Skills Reach Far Beyond the Mat
Taekwondo gives children and adults a structured way to practise more than kicks and forms. Every lesson is an opportunity to listen closely, move with intention, work through difficulty and recognize real progress.
Confidence Built Through Progress
Learning a new stance, improving a kick and completing the next lesson gives students proof that patient effort creates progress.
Discipline With a Purpose
Structured practice teaches students to pay attention to details, repeat the fundamentals and keep working when a technique doesn’t come easily at first.
Body Awareness and Control
Taekwondo develops balance, coordination, timing and controlled movement while helping students better understand how their bodies move.
